Suckler Cow Husbandry

After birth the calf stays with its mother in the stall or in the pasture. From their mother's milk and later from grass and hay, the calves produces first-class gourmet meat.

beef control – Inspection centre (Typ C) for animal husbandry conditions in farming

Beef Cattle Switzerland has entrusted the beef control centre with the inspection of farms producing labelled meat. beef control is accredited by the Swiss Accreditation Service SAS in accordance with EN ISO/IEC 17020 standards, and ensures that farmers adhere to the requirements set down in the label programme of Beef Cattle Switzerland.

The inspection is compulsory for farms that produce for the label programmes Natura-Beef, Natura-Veal and SwissPrimBeef. To ensure that the specifications of the production regulations are adhered to, the farms are checked on a periodic basis.
